What's been your biggest accomplishment since joining crossfit 870?

Losing 25 lbs in three months has been my biggest accomplishment. It's the first weight loss goal that I've set and met. I have also dropped from a size 16 to a 10 and lost 37 inches.

What's been your biggest fear w/working out?

When I first started working out, I was most afraid of looking stupid in front of other people. I thought I might get made fun of for not doing things right, or being too slow.

Have you met the goals that you've set?

I have met quite a few goals that I've set. Not just weight-loss goals, but also fitness goals. I get stronger and faster every day. One of my goals was to run a faster 5k and I have improved my time by 7 minutes and just started training for my first half marathon. I never realized how important it is to set goals until I started CrossFit.

How has the group environment been for you?

I was nervous about the group environment in the beginning, but now I love it! Working out with different people with different levels of fitness definitely pushes me to be better. Also, everyone is incredibly encouraging which motivates me to work harder.

What have you liked and not liked about your experience here?

I really like that I've met so many people that I otherwise would not have known. Also, almost on a daily basis, I do things that I never would have thought possible 5 months ago. One of my favorite things about CrossFit is lifting weights. It's been really cool to see how much stronger I am each time I attempt a new weight.

What motivates you?

Seeing other people meet fitness goals. It makes me want those things for myself, as well. Also, accomplishing goals that I've set really motivates me to set new goals and see them realized.

What lead you to crossfit & why do you continue to come back?

Some of my friends had attended CrossFit 870 for about a month before I decided to try it. They kept telling me how encouraging everyone was and that they really were having fun working out. So I told them I would try it and see if I liked it. Now I continue to go back because I have never seen results like I have with CrossFit, and I really do enjoy it!
