Christy started CrossFit in 2008 with some friends in a Kent, OH high school weight room, where they created their own unique programming and followed CrossFit.com whenever possible. That gym went on to affiliate as SPC CrossFit, and has seen much success over the years, a great story of humble beginnings.
After being away from the sport for over a year, and moving to Arkansas, Christy became a Level 1 CrossFit trainer in July 2011. She started working at CrossFit 870 when they opened in August 2011, and currently runs the On Ramp Program and CrossFit 870 Endurance Program.

Her favorite CrossFit WODs include “Fight Gone Bad” and “Grace,” and her least favorite is definitely “Fran.” Christy finds joy in coaching others at CrossFit 870 and pushing them to reach their own goals. She has seen so many lives change, for the better, over her years of coaching, and truly believes CrossFit can be for anyone! In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, travelling, crafting, and watching sports.
She also would like to recognize her fallen KSU classmate and fellow CrossFitter, Army 1st Lt. Ashley “White” for her passion and dedication to this country.
